Help
Getting started
You need Windows 10 or 11, a Google account and one of: Photoshop 2026+, After Effects 2025+, Premiere Pro 2025+ or VEGAS Pro. Node.js (LTS) is required; the installer checks for it and offers to open its download page if it is missing.
- Install. Download the installer from the latest release and run it.
- Start Spidx Uploader. It lives in the Windows tray (near the clock). The first start opens a guided setup page in your browser.
- Sign in with Google and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If you have a license code, you can activate it here too.
- Choose where uploads go. WorkUpload is free. Google Drive (your own Drive) is part of Pro.
- Connect your panels. The setup page installs the panels for the apps you use. You can do this later in the Dashboard under Account → Plugins.
Opening the panels
| App | Where to find the panel |
|---|---|
| Photoshop | Plugins → Spidx Uploader |
| After Effects | Window → Extensions → Spidx Uploader |
| Premiere Pro (Pro) | Window → Extensions → Spidx Uploader |
| VEGAS Pro (Pro) | View → Extensions → Spidx Uploader |
The panel shows a Ready card when the tray app is running. If it says the helper is not running, start Spidx Uploader first.
Uploading a frame
- Choose how many files to send at once (1 on Free, up to 3 with Pro).
- Click Upload. The panel exports the current frame, the app compresses it on your computer and sends it to your destination.
- The link is copied to your clipboard and a Windows notification confirms it. You can also use Copy last upload link in the tray menu, or find it later under History in the Dashboard.
Batches (Pro). Pick 2 or 3 files and export that many frames. They are uploaded together, into one Drive folder named after the client or project field in the panel, with a single link. Send now uploads what you have so far; Cancel drops the batch.
Camera Raw first (Pro). Photoshop + Upload runs the Camera Raw action you chose in the Dashboard on the frame before it is uploaded. Photoshop has to be open.
Global shortcut
Press Ctrl + Alt + U while After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop or VEGAS Pro is in front and the current frame is uploaded, the same as clicking Upload in the panel. Ctrl + Alt + Shift + U does Photoshop + Upload (Pro).
- Change or turn off the shortcut in the Dashboard under Settings → Global shortcut. It is free for everyone.
- The Spidx panel has to be open in that program. If it is not, a small message tells you.
- The first start builds a small helper program (a few seconds). It uses a compiler that ships with Windows.
- If another program already uses the same keys, the Dashboard says so. Pick another combination.
Client presets
A preset remembers the destination, the Google Drive folder, image compression and the Camera Raw action, so you can switch between clients in one click.
- Set things up the way a client needs them (Dashboard → Settings).
- Under Client presets, type a name (for example Client A) and click Save current setup as preset.
- Switch later with Apply in the Dashboard, or with the Preset list in the After Effects and Premiere Pro panels. It applies instantly, without a restart.
The active preset shows Active. If you change a setting afterwards it shows Active (modified); use Update from current to save the change into the preset. Presets are free. A preset that uses Google Drive or Camera Raw still needs Pro to work.
Upload history
The Dashboard’s History tab lists your latest uploads (up to 500) with their links. Copy a link again, search by file name or client, remove single entries or clear the list. It is stored only on your computer.
MOGRT templates (Premiere Pro)
The MOGRT tab in the Premiere Pro panel is a template browser with previews, categories and search. Click a template and it is placed at the playhead on the first free video track above V1. It never touches your footage or V1.
- Type a nick, or click a player in the Leaderboard tab, and it is written into the graphic (Pro).
- If it says there is no free track, add an empty video track above your clips.
- The MOGRT tab is part of the SPT add-on, sold separately. Ask us for access.
VEGAS Pro
Install the plugin from the setup page or the Dashboard under Account → Plugins (close VEGAS Pro first; it builds the plugin for your VEGAS version and asks for administrator rights). Then open View → Extensions → Spidx Uploader. Uploading from VEGAS Pro needs a Pro plan.
Plans and devices
Free: Photoshop and After Effects panels, WorkUpload, automatic compression, 1 file per upload, Leaderboard, global shortcut, client presets and upload history. Pro: adds the Premiere Pro panel, the VEGAS Pro plugin, Google Drive, batches of up to 3, Camera Raw routing and Replace Text / Properties. A Pro license works on up to 2 devices; sign in with the same Google account on each. See pricing.
Troubleshooting
First step for almost everything: open the Dashboard → Account → Run self-test. It checks the helper, folders, Google sign-in, license, internet and plugins and says in plain words what is wrong.
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| The panel says the helper is not running | Start Spidx Uploader. Its icon should appear in the Windows tray. |
| The panel is missing in Photoshop | Dashboard → Account → Plugins → Photoshop panel → Install (accept the administrator prompt; the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app has to be installed), then restart Photoshop. |
| The panel is missing in After Effects, Premiere Pro or VEGAS Pro | Close the app, install or update the plugin in the Dashboard, then open the app again and look under Window (or View) → Extensions. |
| An upload does not finish | Run the self-test. WorkUpload uploads use a browser in the background: check Settings → Preferred browser. Google Drive needs a Pro plan and a working Google sign-in. |
| The link was not copied | Open History in the Dashboard and copy it from there, or use Copy last upload link in the tray menu. |
| The shortcut does nothing | Open the Spidx panel in that program first. Check Settings → Global shortcut: it should say Active. If the keys are taken by another program, choose different ones. |
| 2–3 files per upload are greyed out | They are a Pro feature. They also stay locked until the tray app has checked your plan. |
| “Device limit reached” | A Pro license covers up to 2 devices. Contact us to move it to another computer. |
| I want to sign out or switch Google account | Tray menu → Reset Google sign-in. You can also revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. |
Contact
Email packmanagerapp2@gmail.com. To help us find the problem quickly, attach a diagnostics file: Dashboard → Account → Diagnostics → Create diagnostics file. It contains the self-test result, recent log lines and your settings with email addresses, tokens and your Windows user name removed. It stays on your computer until you send it.
